Allow me to substantiate that last post...

So, I met a girl and there seemed to be interest on both sides.  We hung out a few times, but things didn't really feel right.  There seemed to be chemistry lacking.  However, we're both genuinely nice people, so it seemed as though we'd keep talking and perhaps when we got to know one another better there might be a spark of romance between us.  Now, I don't happen to speak to this girl for about two days after we hang out, not because I was avoiding her, but because neither one of us was ever really online at the same time.  If we were, she was just as able to IM me as I was to IM her.  I finally broke the silence with a few IMs, ones that were friendly and genuinely curious as to what and how she was doing, but I got no response.  In fact, over the course of a week, I IMed the girl several times and never heard a word back from her.  What seemed at first just to be an anomaly, not hearing back from her, turned out to be the typical and clearly her intention.

Why?

  1. Perhaps it was the two days.  I guess a girl expects the guy to do the contacting.  That's dumb.  If you like someone, don't play games.  Don't expect me to be able to read your mind.  And even though I didn't talk to you for TWO DAYS, I tried talking to you after that.  Many times.
  2. Perhaps it was our lack of chemistry.  Sure, I'm a really boring guy that sometimes just can't think of something to say.  Okay.  If you want to just be friends, that's cool.  If you never want to see me again, whatever.  But you have to talk to me and let me know your intentions.  Ignoring me does no good.
So, yeah.
  • Girls - tell me why I'm wrong.
  • Guys - concur with me that I'm getting the shaft.

Girls thoroughly confuse me.

The Rose Bowl was epic.  Even though I hate both teams, it was still one of the most exciting games I've ever seen.  I hope all you Sooner fans who rooted for Texas are happy.  Luckily, I won't be at the Red River Shootout next year to hear all the taunting.

The Holiday Bowl was fun.  It was a great trip on which to end my Pride career.  San Diego is a beautiful city; the same glamour of Los Angeles, only a little cleaner and less crowded.

My time at home has been great.  Watching movies and playing basketball with my friends is cool; quality time with my old man is rewarding.  I've started asking my dad a lot of questions about his childhood and other things that make him who he is.  My whole life, my parents have just been these older people who took care of me; now it's about time I really get to know them as if they were friends my own age.

It's over.
